Dr. Salmo Presents Philippine Blue Carbon Situationer at 2023 JSPS-CRESPUM, UTokyo, Japan

The Collaborative Research and Education Project in Southeast Asia for Sustainable Use of Marine Ecosystems (CREPSUM) was first held in April 2020 to establish an international science and educational network in Southeast Asia to advance and contribute to marine ecosystems studies in the region. CREPSUM is funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and was previously held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fortunately, this year’s CREPSUM was held in-person at the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo, Kashiwa, Japan last March 8-9, 2023. Our very own Dr. Severino G. Salmo III presented “Blue Carbon in Philippine Mangroves: Status, Uncertainties and Recommendations for “Better” Management” to fellow ASEAN scientists on the second day of the joint seminar.
