MS Microbiology student, Ms. Jacklyn Fe Tolentino, has successfully defended her thesis proposal, Metagenomic Analysis of Bivalve Assemblages and Microbial Communities in Selected Mangrove Stands in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines.
Her thesis aims to investigate the associations between bivalve assemblages and microbial communities in sediments of different mangrove stands in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, using metagenomic approaches.
She successfully defended her thesis proposal before her thesis committee on 28 August 2026. Her study is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Severino G. Salmo III (adviser) and Dr. Marie Christine M. Obusan (co-adviser), with Dr. Ma. Elisa Gerona-Daga as reader.
