El successfully defended her dissertation study entitled, “Photosynthetic performance and its role in vegetation structure, productivity, and nutrients in different mangrove stands” yesterday, Dec 11. Dr. Salmo acted as the dissertation adviser. Dr. Richard MacKenzie (USDA Forest Service) and Dr. Leilani G. Sumabat-Dacones (Institute of Biology, UP Diliman) served as dissertation readers.
The final defense presentation was conducted in hybrid format, with Dr. MacKenzie participating remotely from Palau. The dissertation examiners, Dr. Dixon Gevaña (CFNR, UP Los Baños) and Dr. William Buhian (Institute of Biology, UP Diliman) attended in person. Dr. Teresita Perez (retired professor of IB, UP Dil), Dr. Francis Magbanua of the Wetland and linked Aquatic-Terrestrial Research Laboratory (WATER Lab), and the research staff were also present. Other teachers, researchers, and students joined the meeting virtually.
