The National Blue Carbon Action Partnership (NBCAP) Roadmap 2026-2030 was launched and officially turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB).
The roadmap provides a strategic framework for the Philippines to harness the potential of blue carbon ecosystems in addressing climate change while supporting coastal communities and biodiversity conservation. The turnover of the roadmap to the DENR-BMB strengthens the leadership and commitment of the country towards coastal conservation.
The next phase of roadmap implementation includes the convening of the Leadership Steering Committee (LSC) and Technical Working Group (TWG) in April. The DENR-BMB is also pursuing a DENR Administrative Order or Executive Order to formally institutionalize the NBCAP roadmap and structure.
