Dr. Salmo highlighted that mangrove loss is closely linked to declining fish catch because mangroves serve as important nursery, feeding, and shelter areas for many fish and marine species. As mangrove forests continue to disappear, coastal fisheries and the communities that depend on them also become increasingly vulnerable.
