Dr. Salmo discussed Blue Carbon in the Philippines in a Webinar hosted by NAST-PHL

Dr. Sev Salmo was one of the speakers on a ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—˜๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ last Jun 24, 2022 organized by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). His talk entitled โ€œBlue Carbon in the Philippines: Status, Needs, and (โ€œMissedโ€) Opportunitiesโ€ discussed the importance of blue carbon ecosystems and the challenges in conserving these critical ecosystems.

Together with Dr. Sev as resource speakers were Dir. Natural of ANRES-NEDA (represented by Mr. Julius Casabal, Chief Economic Development Specialist during the Q&A forum) and Academician Primavera, a member of Biological Sciences Division of NAST Philippines. Atty. Ramos and Dr. De Los Angeles acted as reactors. This webinar was moderated by Academician Marie Antonette Antonio-Meรฑez.

Dir. Nieva T. Natural, Director of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Staff (ANRES) at the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), discussed the oversight of agriculture and fisheries sectors and matters about the environment and natural resources; and Acd. Jurgenne H. Primavera, a member of Biological Sciences Division of NAST Philippines, discussed coastal success stories rooted in effective local governance.
