Published studies relevant to Philippine mangroves are collected, analyzed, and categorized to develop our State of the Philippine Mangroves Database. These studies are distributed into five categories: con (conservation), res (restoration), soceco (socioeconomics), polgov (policy and governance), and general. This page will provide regular and monthly updates to provide a synopsis of the state of Philippine mangrove studies.
February 2025
As of January 2025, a total 602 studies were compiled related to Philippine mangroves from year 1979 to January 2025. Studies were categorized into conservation (n=244), restoration (n=63), socioeconomic (n=79), policy & governance (n=57), and general (n=159). Thirty-seven (37) studies have been added to our database since February 2024.
February 2024
A total of 7 studies have been added to our database (total: 565) for the month of February which have all been categorized as con.
January 2024
As of January 2024, three studies have been added and a total of 558 published studies are included in our database. The map shows the distribution of total studies across the provinces in the Philippines.
