ASEAN, the Government of Japan, and UNDP officially launched the ASEAN Blue Carbon and Finance Profiling (ABCF) Project in Jakarta. The ambitious project aims to strengthen the sustainable management of blue carbon ecosystems in all ASEAN countries and Timor Leste. The best available science, satellite technology, and field assessments will be used in valuing the carbon stored in marine and freshwater ecosystems. This is a major step in unlocking innovative financing solutions for climate resilience and inclusive economic growth across the region
