Assessing Mangrove and Seagrass Ecosystem’s Blue Carbon Potential in FMA 6 and 9 of the Philippines (Blue CAP) is a World Bank Ph-funded study, conducted through the Marine Environmental Resources Foundation (MERF), under the Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency (FISHCORE) Project of the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR). Blue Cap aims to map and assess the blue carbon potential (BCP) of representative mangrove areas in Fisheries Management Areas (FMA) 6 and 9 through remote sensing, field measurements, and desktop research. As the short-term study nears its end, we are delighted to report that the MERF team presented their preliminary results to the stakeholder’s from FMA 6. The training workshop was held last Aug 27-28, 2025 at Quest Conference Center, Clark, Pampanga. Expect more details and event highlights in the coming days!
