Assessing the soils of Oriental Mindoro mangroves

Dr. Salmo’s team from the Institute of Biology, UP Diliman recently conducted a fieldwork in Oriental Mindoro from August 23 to 26 where they collected sediment samples for eDNA analyses and mangrove infauna assessment. Soil CO2 efflux, water quality, and crustacean diversity were also assessed for different mangrove stand types in the municipalities of Mansalay, Roxas, and Bongabong. This fieldwork is a part of a new project led by Dr. Salmo and funded by the United States Forest Service (USFS).
