PEER-funded PhD student successfully presented dissertation progress at colloquium seminar

This morning, May 31, PhD Biology candidate Maria Elisa B. Gerona-Daga presented the progress of her dissertation research titled “Photosynthetic performance and its role in vegetation structure, productivity, and nutrients in different mangrove stands” during a colloquium seminar held over Zoom. Ms. Gerona-Daga highlighted key findings from her primary study site in Ormoc Bay, Leyte. Her dissertation, supervised by Dr. Salmo, is an in-depth investigation on photosynthetic regulation, litter fall production, and nutrient dynamics in different mangrove stands. The seminar was well attended with distinguished participants including Dr. Dixon Gevaña, Director of the Forestry Development Center (FDC-CFNR) of UP Los Baños. The dissertation readers, Dr. MacKenzie (USDA Forest Services based in Palau) and Dr. Sumabat-Dacones (UP Diliman) were also present in the seminar.
