PEER ManCoRe collaborator, Dr. Mohammad Basyuni, delivers seminar on Mangrove Bioprospecting at the Institute of Biology

Dr. Mohammad Basyuni, a professor from the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, and a collaborator of the PEER ManCoRe project, delivered his seminar titled, “Bioprospecting status and opportunities in Southeast Asian Mangroves,” at the Institute of Biology last May 6, 2024. Through the seminar, Dr. Basyuni shared the status of his research on mangrove bioprospecting in Southeast Asia and its potential applications for the treatment of diseases including colorectal cancer and COVID-19. The seminar was attended by IB Director, Dr. Ian Kendrich Fontanilla, and PEER ManCoRe Project Leader, Dr. Severino G. Salmo III, along with various faculty, staff, and students at the Institute of Biology.
